PhD. In Law (2015) and graduated in Law from the University of Valladolid in 1995, with studies in Commercial Law at the University of Linz (Austria), Diploma in Computer Law from UNED. Diploma of Advanced Studies by ICADE. Member of the Bar Association of Madrid since 1996, Industrial Property Agent, and authorized official representative before the European Patent Office and the European Unión Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). He has been Associate Professor of the Department of Private Law at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2001-2005) and is currently Associate Professor of Civil Law at the Univ. Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). Ignacio has extensive experience in Intellectual Property, both in the prosecution and litigation practices of Patents and Trademarks, as well as in the contractual and litigious aspects of TMT and Copyrights, the subject of his doctoral thesis. He is a regular lecturer in forums and Masters in his specialty, and author of several national and international publications and articles on these matters. Ignacio is also a member of several committees and professional associations and has been recognized as one of the most outstanding lawyers in Spain in these fields by publications such as "Chambers", "Legal 500", "WTR" and "IP Stars". In 2011 he was recognized with the "40u40" award by the Iberian Lawyer Magazine, and in 2021 he received the title of "Best Lawyer Madrid" in Intellectual Property by the publication Best Lawyers. Ignacio is the author of the book "Plagiarism in Copyright Law" (Thomson Reuters - Aranzadi, 2015).
