Our partners, Jean-Mathieu Bertho and Nicoletta Galizia, together with counsel Lauren Rose Keller, will be attending the 40th MARQUES Annual Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, from 22 to 25 September 2026.
The focus of this year's MARQUES Annual Conference will be on the evolution of trademarks in exciting ways as businesses explore new ways of using brands and other IP assets to build trust with consumers.
The event features a comprehensive programme including plenary sessions on topics such as the boundary between fame and genericism, strategies for unlocking IP value, regulatory updates, the new Digital Product Passport and the intersection of trademarks, geographical indications and international trade. Attendees will also receive updates from the EUIPO, as well as the annual case law review from the CJEU and the EU General Court.
Additionally, interactive workshops hosted by MARQUES teams will cover topics such as anti-counterfeiting at trade fairs, unconventional trademarks, artificial intelligence, domain name arbitration and EU design developments.
Further details on the programme are available HERE, while more information on the MARQUES-organised event can be found HERE.
