Our partner Marco Francetti (former President and current Council member) and senior associate Elena Prandoni will be attending the LIDC (International League of Competition Law) Congress 2026, held in Bucharest, Romania, from 15 to 18 October 2026. The Congress will explore how law must evolve in the age of artificial intelligence, digital creation, and innovation.
The event will address multidisciplinary topics ranging from sustainability and digitisation, from alternative procedures to sanctions imposed by the Competition Authority, through to direct investments under scrutiny by regulatory authorities, as well as the protection of works of art and the challenges faced by artists in the context of AI.
In particular, the conference will focus on two key issues: one relating to competition law, concerning the effectiveness of negotiated procedures whilst respecting the rights of defence and confidentiality; and the other centred on intellectual property, dedicated to the protection of new digital art and AI-generated art to ensure innovation and economic returns.
Marco and Elena will both take part in the IP panel, an area in which Elena is one of the national rapporteurs for the Italian chapter of the Springer LIDC series.
